T-Dubb's TUF 12 Week 4 Recap

The male ego was at its finest in this week’s episode. The episode begins in the Red Team’s locker, and shows all of the guys gathered around Mike Tyson, who is giving them a pep talk about confidence. It was a touching moment. Tyson is idealized by most of the guys there and they feel so fortunate to have Mike Tyson speak to them. I’m sure they each wanted to give Tyson a great big hug and say “I love you man.”

Back at the house you see some of the guys gathered around a table, trash talking about Bruce Leroy to Mike Johnson. Koschek’s team felt offended by want Alex Caceres was saying during Mike’s fight. I’m sure worse has been said in the season, and if you get offended by someone saying “fuck him up” then wear earplugs. Sevak Magakian seemed to have the biggest issue with Alex. Of course during the conversation, Alex comes in to talk smack back to them, and tempers flare. What you don’t expect is Sevak’s temper to go from puesdo angry to psycho irate within a split second. You can tell that a fight was going to break out, but it was like boom, chairs being pushed out of the way and Sevak going after Alex. He didn’t touch him, not sure if he would have cause someone pretty much tackled him before he could do anything, but he missed the basic steps of getting into each other’s face like they’re going to kiss, the shoving, and then the fight. I felt jipped out of what could have been a great climatic scene, cause Sevak was quick to jump the gun. It’s still early though, I’m sure there will be at least one other confrontation. Hopefully it’s GSP finally shutting up Koscheck. I can dream, right? Sevak just needs to chill out and walk way. Why let someone like Bruce Leroy, the cockiest of them all, get under your skin, make you lose your temper, and possibly lose your chance of being in the UFC? You’re just torturing yourself by letting Alex get in your head.

Ok, do we really need to discuss Koscheck? You already know how much I can’t stand him. He’s not funny, and yet he continuous to be childish and harass GSP for whatever reason. Whatever he was trying to accomplish by wearing those nasty draws of his, didn’t work. It just made us close one eye and look away in disgust, which is what I do whenever they show him anyways. He’s trying to get into GSP’s head piece by piece, but you can’t break perfection. He can’t get his team to win, his pep talks aren’t working and he can’t pierce GSP’s armor. If this keeps happening, will he finally realize that maybe he's the dork trying to act cool, and get over himself.

Kyle Watson vs. Andy Main

The fight begins with an exchange of strikes and kicks. The guys wind up against the fence, where Main mounts Watson’s back for about a minute so. Then they’re on the ground. After that not much happens. Watson tries to mount Main, and they pretty much work on their jiu jitsu skills with each for the remainder of the round. For round 2, Main comes out striking and kicking, while Watson is a bit hesitate and doesn’t really do anything until main began a full attack. Watson takes Main down to the ground and they struggle for a bit again, then Watson takes Mains back and eventually submits Main with a rear naked choke with a 1:39 in round. If Main didn’t allow for the takedown and forced Watson to stand up, he could have won, but he didn’t, so now GSPs team is 3-0.

Now, I don’t know why Koscheck is getting upset with his team, and throwing a fake mini tantrum. He’s training them to be like him…obnoxious and dramatic. We’ll see if Jon Fitch and Chuckie pooh can bring some excitement to the Yellow team. We’ll see.

That’s all folks, for now. Remember to let us know what you think of the season so far or on Twitter @woMMAn.

T-Dubb's TUF 12 Episode 2 Recap

I love, love, love GSP. He had me applauding and laughing at the start of this episode. Koscheck, such a chump.  Thought you were slick didn’t you.  The fake list was classic.  That’s something K*Lovely and I would do in a competition.  M&Ms hoochie!! I thought no way Koscheck would fall for such a simple trick.  But hey, he’s not paid to be smart. Now, I have to double check last week’s episode, but I thought Koscheck didn’t remember Marc Stevens, and now they’re admitting to coaching him before.  Things that make you go hmmm.

So everyone knows that the 2 teams will experience very different coaching strategies.  Koscheck calls his coaching style “mindless,” where they roll around and he jumps in to show them something.  Is there going to be some strategy or control lessons in the sessions?  Aren’t the fights 50% physical and 50% mental?  Also, I thought that there was going to be 1 or 2 acting lessons mixed in with the training sessions.  Not much to say about GSP’s team, except that they’re lucky SOBs.  I want to roll around with GSP in those tight shorts.  Besides that, these guys will have an opportunity to learn from some of the best coaches and Mr. GSPrefect.  They’ll get to experience what GSP does on a daily basis, how technical his training is, and his thought process on how to dominate an opponent of any caliber.

So, Koscheck said that if you sit down and have a conversation with him, you’ll fall in love with him.  Ok, hell naw, I will not fall in love with Koscheck.  I wouldn’t be able to get past the fakeness and the hair.  You’re labeled based off your actions and what you portray to the public.  What I’ve seen is cockiness and a fake ass.

Alex Caceres v Jeffrey Lentz

This was an excellent match up and first fight.  I thought it was fitting that these 2 were matched up image wise, good guy vs bad guy, similar to their coaches.  Lentz convincingly dominated the 1st round by keeping Caceres up against the fence, utilizing leg kicks, and has an impressive throw at the last few seconds of the round.  Caceres had several guillotine attempts but nothing came of them. 2nd round started out much the same as the 1st.  Lentz had Caceres up against the fence, and Caceres attempted another guillotine.  They wind up on the ground, with Lentz on top.  There were a few elbows by Lentz, but Caceres was able to get Lentz in a triangle choke for the tap out, and wins with 2:30 left in the 2nd.

Can’t take anything away from Lentz, he could have won this fight if he didn’t get caught up in the chokes.  Both fighters have the potential to have a good career ahead of them if they continue to improve.

That’s all I have for you.  Don’t forget to tweet us your thoughts (@woMMAn).  We’d love to hear what you think of the season so far.

Bye for now,

T-Dubb

K*Lovely's Weekly Rampage Thought wk 4

Well here we are again for another weekly Rampage thought. I can’t believe I’m already in to week 4! Who knew a girl could have so much to say about Rampage.

This is another week where there things have been a little quiet on his side. He’s been overseas promoting the movie so he hasn’t had much time to devote to his shit talk. Now don’t get me wrong, he did find time for some, just not as much as normal. As much as I think he should fully concentrate on Machida, Machida wasn’t the biggest victim of the word slaying. With Machida he got the normal piss breath joke, however King Mo was the bigger target this week. This isn’t the first time these two have exchanged words. I believe it started back before his fight with Rashad….you know the whole “Mo is the king of dungeon breath” thing. When Rampage lost the fight to Evans, King Mo laid it on thick and had a field day with the loss that he predicted would happen. Now the sparks have ignited with King Mo’s recent loss on Strikeforce last weekend. Rampage wasted no time and hopped on Twitter and laid into him. The basic sum of it was that King Mo should never talk shit again since he couldn’t win his first title defense. After that tweet Rampage followed up with another tweet defending the previous one. I guess there were some people that didn’t agree with his choice words. It doesn’t surprise me at all that people would run their mouths and give him shit about what he said. As long as Rampage has been around he has never been one to hide words. Like me, he always has something to say. It really should have been expected that Rampage would come back with fighting words for King Mo after that loss. It just wouldn’t be the Rampage I love if he didn’t. Don’t defend yourself to them Rampage! Most of the people that were blowing up your twitter are the same people that hide behind their computer’s to talk trash then turn around and ask you for an autograph and a prom photo when they see you. I embrace and encourage your shit talk. Nobody can ever say that’s it not entertaining. I say keeps it coming, just as long as it doesn’t distract you from handling your business with Machida. Make me proud Rampage, never change!!!

Now I happen to come across a nice hype video for his upcoming fight. It’s not an “official” hype video from UFC but it’s just as good, if not better than one they would put together. Still waiting on word where this fight will take place, but it doesn’t matter…I’ll be there…cheering him on! Since I’m such a nice girl here is the link (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0B7wJAfeHjs) I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

That’s it for me peeps. I’ll be back next week with another thought. Don’t forget that this is fight week and UFC 118 is Saturday. This should be great fights with the rematch of Penn & Edgar, not to mention Florian vs Maynard, Couture fighting some nobody & Diaz vs Davis. Most people know about my love affair for the Diaz brothers, but that’s a whole different blog itself. Have a good week! Peace out!!!!

K*Lovely's Weekly Rampage Thought wk 3

Another Monday upon us and so that means it’s time for another weekly Rampage thought. This week has been pretty quiet as far as news goes. No one has pissed him off or complained about something that he has done so all is right in the world. Well, at least for this week. If you follow him on twitter, he has said that he is visiting South Africa and then a quick trip to Japan. After his vacation he will get to the hustle and begin his training for the Machida match up in November.

There were some rumors buzzing around that this fight might be held in Chicago but UFC put those rumors to rest. Chicago was considered for UFC 123 but it looks like UFC will not be visiting the windy city until 2011. Bummer for them. You know UFC, San Diego would love for that fight to happen here. I thought we treated you well when you brought the Versus show here at the beginning of the month. Give us another shot. Matter of fact I will offer up my services. I can personally make sure Rampage gets to all of his appearances, press conferences, workouts, weigh ins, etc. Just a little something to think about.

Now I did happen to see something about Rampage that made me giggle. Bleacher Report did an article on the 10 craziest MMA fighters. Rampage came in at number 8, mostly for backing out of the Rashad fight to pursue the A-Team movie and of course that little incident he had. You know the hit and run and police pursuit thing he was involved in. Everybody has bad days people, but to call him “bat-crazy” is a little harsh. I think “slightly off” that day fits much better and the movie thing shouldn’t even be mentioned. He was listed among others like Tito Ortiz, Brock Lesnar, Lee Murray & Jesse Taylor. All of those fighters seem to have much bigger issues than Rampage…don’t you think?

Well that’s it for me my people. Hope everyone has a wonderful week and don’t forget to watch the big WEC Cruz vs Benavidez fight on Wednesday. That fight card is stacked and should make for some incredible fights.

K*Lovely's Weekly Rampage Thought wk 2

Another week gone by, which means it’s time for another weekly Rampage thought. Unfortunately, no confirmed news on the location of where his next fight will be but Rampage did manage to make news again. Rampage made some waves with a little spat he’s having with the rapper The Game. Apparently The Game is still butt hurt that he didn’t get the B.A. part in the A-team. This little battle between them has been going on for a little while but I thought it would be over once the movie came out. C’mon now Game…stop this. First off, why are you going to mess with a man that gets paid to fight inside a cage? You may be hard, but Rampage will knock your ass out! You deserve to be on Ed Lover’s next episode of C’mon Son. He just sounds real foolish right now. You may nailed the audition, grew a mohawk, bought some bling and all that jazz, but it was someone else’s decision to cast him. Rampage didn’t force anyone to give him that part. You thought you had it in the bag but you didn’t. Like they say, that’s show biz! Maybe hire Rampage’s agent. After all you think he stole that part, hire the people that helped make that happen. Basically just do something else because, in my opinion, you look chumpish.

Now Rampage got wind of the smack talk The Game was doing and actually challenged him to a “spar session” Don’t waste your time with it Rampage. He’ll talk some more crap for a little while and then he’ll kick rocks. You just do you until it’s time to get down to training for your next fight. Let that be your main focus. Not some rapper who still salty over a movie part. People are always looking for a reason to make you look weak, don’t give them any fuel by wasting any more time on this non sense. You don’t need to defend yourself on this matter. Now for your sake Game, don’t respond to the challenge. Just go back in the studio and make another CD. After all I miss your rhymes.

Well that’s it for me my peeps. Remember to keep checking back, every Monday will be a new “thought” until the week of Rampage’s next fight. You know me; I always have something to say. TALK HARD!

K*Lovely's TUF 11 Week 4 Recap

This week’s episode was filled with good things and a little bit of bad things. We are graced with 1 weigh-in and 2 fights. Unfortunately we also are forced to listen to Nick Ring, with his horrid voice, talk in this episode too. As usual the show starts off with a recap of the previous fight. They show clips of Yager cheering for his teammates but he also gives a shout out to Brad, who is his friend on the opposite team. Of course this bothers his teammates and Nick decides to give Yager a talk on team spirit. Now with a voice like his, he shouldn’t pep talk anyone but he also was talking down to Yager as if he was 5 years old. He said things like…”oh you’re either with us or against us” & “I have friends on the other team & I don’t cheer for them.” SHUT UP!!!! That’s you, but you are no one’s daddy so don’t tell people who they can and cannot cheer for! Much kudos to Yager! The moment Nick started that nonsense I would have walked away but Yager stood there and heard him out.

Chucky poo is still in control and the next fight he picks is Kycey Uscola vs Rich Attonito. Before we get to the fight the show goes into more bickering in the house. Who’s involved again….yes Yager! This time he’s accused of being a thief by Uscola. Now a lesson learned in elementary school is NEVER call someone a thief unless you know for a fact they are. After getting down to the bottom of it, turns out Uscola had it all wrong & just wanted to talk shit to Yager. Uscola, of course, never admitted he was wrong or apologized to Yager for the things he said but that’s ok, he looked like a jack ass on TV.

Kycey Uscola vs Rich Attonito

They boys start off circling around and landing a few punches. Attonito gets in a good combination of punches that drop Uscola. Attonito is all over him once he drops but Uscola scrambles around and is able to survive. Attonito slams the hell out of Uscola & started unloading more and more punches but again Uscola is able to survive and tries to set in a kimura but unsuccessful. Uscola ends up on side mount and gets in some punches but Attonito isn’t having it. Attonito attempts to stand up when Uscola throws some knees and one looks like it was to the head. The ref comes in quickly and Attonito is unable to continue. He takes the win due to a DQ. Now from what I saw, that knee didn’t hit him in the face or anywhere in the head for that matter. I find it a little shady though that he did have a broken hand. Maybe Attonito played the knee card so he quit because of his hand. Not saying that it’s true but if little Urijah can finish a 5 round fight with a destroyed hand, you need to suck it up buddy! Learn from the little people. Also on a side note, did Attonito’s skin look yellow…..like jaundice yellow? Hmmm could just be me.

Chuck stays in control and picks the next match up which is Charles Blanchard & Jaime Yager. I love when they show the weigh ins but it was completely unfair that it had to be Blanchard. At least Yager gave us something to look at…woot woot!! I’m not just in it for the fights fellas…show me what ya got!!

Charles Blanchard vs Jaime Yager

In the beginning it seemed as both fighters where a little hesitant to engage but Blanchard goes in for a leg. Yager is able to defend the takedown like a gangster! He lands a right hand and Blanchard falls against the cage and Yager comes in to finish him off by dropping bombs. Ref comes in to save Blanchard & Team Punishment has their first victory. Tito couldn’t be happier 7 you see life pumping back into him.

Now I did happen to notice that “robot voice” Nick Ring was not cheering for his team mate. Practice what you preach! Better yet, DON’T….i can’t stand to hear you speak!

Of course Uscola still has nothing good to say and even wished Yager would get injured enough not to come back. To me, that is worse than cheering for your friend that happens to be on another team. Uscola continues to hate on Yager after his victory but who cares. I think you lost your fight buddy so just shush! Back up your words like Yager, and then speak!

K-Lovey's TUF Thoughts Episode 2

Another episode is upon us and now we will start to see what separates the boys from the men, as Tito & Chuck pick their teams. I believe this is the first time Dana said someone had a better team. I think it’s a little unfair to judge these boys based on their size. Trust me, I speak from experience. I don’t even break 5 feet, but try and mess with me. You can be the biggest 185’er ever but if you have no heart, you’ll get nowhere quick. So Hammertree….shove your Willy Wonka comment!

The team breakdown is as follows:

TEAM PUNISHMENT              TEAM LIDDELL

Nick Ring                                   Kyle Noke
Kyacey Uscola                           Rich Attonito
Kris McCray                              Charles Blanchard
Jaime Yager                               Josh Bryant
James Hammertree                     Brad Tavares
Clayton McKinney                     Court McGee
Chris Camozzi                           Jon Henle

I believe in Chuck and as he was explaining to Dana, he did his research on these guys so he has reasoning behind his picks. I just think it’s far too early to say who has the better team. Remember staying cooped up in the house also has an effect on these guys, so only time will tell which ones can handle their business.

Now Yager seems to be the guy that is going to be the Jeremy May of this season. Pranks & jokes are all fun and games, but you should never bother someone’s sleep buddy! We would have had some serious problems if I was woken up at 3am by an air horn. You certainly wouldn’t have to worry about your “Sideshow Bob” look; cause when I was done you’d be more like Mr. Clean! Now all the brown boys can stick together all they want but something’s shouldn’t be done. As Bernie Mac said, I would have beat you tell the white meat showed!

Like I said before, I knew there was still some puss boys left in the house and McKinney is proof of that. I pretty much agreed with what Camozzi was saying about injuries. You cannot let the mind take over and let you be defeated before you’ve stepped into that cage. Especially when that could possibly ruin a once in a lifetime opportunity. With the kind of trainer fighters do before fights, it’s hard to believe any fighter gets in there at a 100%, so get over it! You just smashed the homies nose and you’re bitching about a bruised shoulder. C’mon son!! I liked how Tito was not letting up on him! Even though Tito is king of excuses, he knew that McKinney was ready to give up.

Now I have to admit that the Chuck Liddell piƱata was hilarious! Its just so funny to me that after all these years Chuck still lets Tito get under his skin that way. Unless, in some kind of freak accident, Tito happens to lose his tongue, he will always talk shit. Even then I think he would just start writing down his shit talk on paper. Chuck you have beaten his ass TWICE! That alone speaks louder than any shit talk that Tito can say to you. Shake it off cutie pie….don’t let him get to you!

On a side note…I love it when they show weigh-ins!!! Thank you Noke for those cute green undies you wore. That accent of yours and those undies made my night. Ok….moving on.

KYLE NOKE vs CLAYTON MCKINNEY

This fight gets off to a slow start. McKinney throws in some leg kicks to start & Noke seems to be feeling him out a bit. It seems like they both were a little hesitant to engage with each other. After a bit of circling around McKinney gets Noke’s back and tries to get a slam in, but he can’t drop him. Noke drops down and the two end up on the ground trying to get good position. Noke ends up with the better position and sinks in a triangle and McKinney taps before the round is over. Team Liddell gets the first win of the season and keeps control.

This is the first season that I don’t know which team I am rooting for. I love both of the coaches, and each team has guys that I like. I’m sure as the time goes by I won’t be able to stay neutral. Someone always screws it up for the team.

Make sure to check out our recap of UFC 112 on Saturday. Until then I bid you adieu!

T-Dubb's TUF Episode 2 Thoughts

Ok, I really hope that every episode will not be focused on Yager and his antics. I know that there has to be some form of entertainment on the show, but I’d rather watch the guys train and workout, than see 3 idiots running around at 3 in the morning acting like jackasses. Try waking me up at 3am with a blow horn, and see who goes home crying to mommy. The preview for next week’s episode promises more drama, with Yager in the middle of it. Shocker. Either put up or shut up. He’s either that immature or he’s playing mind games with these guys and already has 2 followers to join the torture. He's most likely that immature.

For the team picks, Tito’s team was commenting on the size of the guys, but if you remember last season, Rampage picked all of the big guys and lost all but one fight. Not that size doesn’t matter, cause it really does in my world, there is a reason that Chuck picked the team that he did, and we’ll have to wait until the season progresses to see if his strategy and reasoning will prevail. Not sure, but it seems as though Dana and Tito are solely going off the first fights they saw of these guys, to determine who they think are the better fighters.  Chuck actually researched each fighter, which makes more sense to me, but what do I know, I'm a woman who can't be objective, so I've been told.

The fight for the night went pretty quick with Noke winning by triangle. Not underestimating Noki, because I knew he would win, but you can see how guys can psych themselves out because of an injury. McKinney complained the whole episode about his shoulder, and wimped out of exercises that Tito thought he could push through. During the fight McKinney seemed ok, but if you’re telling yourself that your injured and you can’t do certain things because of the pain, then you defeated yourself before you enter the ring. Noke was ready even before this fight was announced. Noke has way more MMA experience, and has more than 3 fights under his belt. Noke would have won regardless of McKinney’s hurt shoulder.

Here's this week's recap about the fine ass men of the week.

Chuck looked fucking hot when he walked in for the pick's.  We ran into him in Vegas once, and he was the nicest person ever.  That's where I feel in love with him.  It was love at first site.  As much as I cannot stand Yager.  He has the best body so far.  I want to like him, but his personality is a turnoff.

I saw McKinney's clip on the TUF site after this episode, and he seems like a nice person. This clip brought his cuteness up a few notches, after it had dropped significantly during the episode.  He has time to make up the difference though.

Noke baby...Gotta love those Aussies.  I know I do.  Just keep doing well and you'll stay at the top of my wish list.

I'm all ready for the next week's epsiode, but I'll just have to visit the Spike TV and Ultimate Fighter websites for my daily fix.

T-Dub's Intro woMMAn's Blog

Finally a blog discussing MMA from a woMMAn’s point of view. Here we will not only discuss the fights and fighters, but we will also discuss who’s hot, and who pretty much sucks and needs to drop off the face of the earth. Whether you agree with our point of view or not , we don’t care. We are just sharing with you what we think, and that is all that matters.

First blog coming up will be on tomorrow night’s season final of TUF 9. Ladies, don’t miss this one, cuz Ross and Andre face-off, and they are the 2 hottest guys on team UK. We’re disappointed that Frank didn’t make to the finals, but look forward to seeing him fight again. He alone was Team US. Hopefully, Dana can find more guys like Frank next season, cuz I don’t know how much longer we can take of the little boys with complexes that he’s been picking lately. Go outside the camps, Dana! Please find guys that we can stand and look forward to seeing each week.

Ok, let me stop, before I get carried away. This was just going to be an introduction to our blog woMMAn. We are in no way experts, just spectators of the sport and huge fans. Where else can you find tight bodied men, rolling around on the ground in little shorts. Anyways, look for blogs from T-Dub and K-lovely regularly. There’s 2 cuz we don’t always agree. We will be posting when it matters, or whenever we feel like.
