T-Dub's Blog: Total Combat 34

Last night’s Total Combat was a complete waste of time and money. It seemed unorganized the whole night and very low budget for high ticket prices. Nothing against the fighters, but majority of them were from Brandon Vera’s camp Alliance. Majority of the people in audience were supporters of Alliance. I don’t know much about the company that puts on Total Combat. Ok I don’t know anything about this company, but it felt more like a Brandon Vera production than anything else. My question of the night was where are the fighters from other camps? I’ll have to look into this further, because I know that there are tons of camps in So Cal. Where do they go to showcase their skills?

The fights were good. They have that rawness going for them that makes it interesting to watch. I’d have to say that the fight of the night was the chick fight between Michelle Vera and Leah Melynchuk. Leah looked like a little scrapper, but Michelle Vera was ready and was able to control the fight. Anytime Leah would get close and land some strikes, Michelle pulled her in even closer and to do a series of knees and punches. Leah tried many take downs, but was only successful once in the last round, which did not work in her favor. Michelle wounded up on top and landed a ton of elbows to the face Lesnar style. The last minute of the 3rd round though Leah almost caught Michelle in a couple of submission moves, but once again Michelle was able to turn the tables and get out of every single one of them. Leah was great, but Michelle did her fans and bro proud. Michelle was not about to let Leah win. Anytime Leah did something good, Michelle would do something better.

I enjoyed the fight between Steve Gable and Preston Scharf, both non-Alliance members. It was a high energy match up either one of them could have won. Mark Striegl did an amazing rear-naked-choke on Andy Jewitt that left Andy passed out for few seconds. Overall, I think a few of the guys would be good match ups for the prelims at a WEC, maybe a UFC. Some you can tell are beginners and have a lot of work ahead of them.

On another note. What were those dancers doing last night? They were the worst dancers ever. The whole audience was making fun of them. I know that it is hard to get up in front of people and shake your ass, but you can’t tell me that out of all of the skinny girls in San Diego, you can’t find 4 that can dance without making themselves look ridiculous. I was more entertained at Hustler watching ta tas, then I was watching those girls, and I don’t even swing that way. If you can’t find decent dancers, then don’t have any at all. The music alone would have been just fine.

Well that’s my 2 cents for the day. On MMA at least.

Check out K-lovely’s blog, which will be posting soon.

Peace, Love, and ta tas bitches.

K-lovely's Blog: UFC 100 Weekend

Hello peeps!!! I just wanted to drop a few lines about my UFC 100 experience. My best friend and I were at a non-stop pace the moment we landed in Vegas. The expo was just amazing! I have to hand it to the guys, it can’t be easy to keep a happy face & look interested in every conversation for 2 days straight. Who knows the shit they heard from people. We did wait in a few lines, but we got lucky just walking around and catching the fighters out and about. Friday was definitely the jack pot for me. I got so much accomplished. On this day I had the chance to meet the DIAZ brothers, followed Rampage like a stalker from one end of the expo to the other to get the perfect shot, and I enjoyed the greatness of the weigh ins. Thanks to the fight club membership we had a much shorter line to wait in and we were allowed in an hour earlier for a Q & A with Kenny Florian. Unfortunately, they forgot to give us the memo that said we had to be on his nuts. Don’t get me wrong, Kenny is a good fighter. I just happen to like B.J., or other fighters for that matter, a lot better. I was just a little thrown back when I saw how many people were going gaga over him. The weigh ins were as wonderful as I expected them to be! Men undressing and then giving their tough man pose in their undies……never a bad thing. After the weigh ins we ran into Frank Lester. He was such a sweetie! He was so friendly and seemed like he was happy to be there and really enjoying the experience. I think all the guys were more excited to see him than we were. I think I was pushed out of the way at least twice. Thanks Frank for showing that SD has real fighters! I’m sure you can sleep now knowing that the meatheads of America love you!

Saturday was a short day at the expo but we did meet a lot of great fighters. We met some of the guys from WEC. A couple that stood out were Jens Pulver and Joseph Benavidez. Jens was just silly and he was patient during a camera malfunction. Thanks Jens! Joseph was just so sweet to us. We talked about the fight that just happens to fall on my best friend’s birthday. He promised to give her a b-day gift, so we’ll see. It just sucks that he is fighting Dominick Cruz. I have been a fan of Cruz for awhile now, so this will be a hard one for me. Other fighters that stood out to me were Gabriel Gonzaga & Joe Lauzon. Gonzaga seemed to be really into it and would even take some crazy photos. He got down for a cute pose with me! Joe was so sweet and a really good sport. I asked him to sign something funny on my picture, and we came up with SEXY BEAST! You’re the man Joe, thanks for playing along!!!

On to the fights!! I definitely felt like I received my money’s worth. I would like to give a little love to the prelim matches that have not caught as much attention. The first 2 matches ended in the first round by some really good chokes. I found it quite amusing watching Tom Lawlor chock C.B’s ass out. As you can tell, I am not a C.B. fan at all. Shannon Gugerty choked Price so hard his arm went limp. That was crazy! Now the match that I felt was the fight of the night was the Danzig vs Miller. I thought this was a great brawl and it was bloody which made it even better in my eyes. In the first round Miller came out strong. First with punches, then he got Danzig down and was all over him. Not only with submission attempts, but he dropped some nasty elbows and cut Danzig bad. I was worried about that cut in the 2nd round. Danzig did try and slip on a kimura, but no luck. Miller got some real good shots to Danzig’s face and he was bleeding like crazy. Toward the end of the round Danzig had a tight ass guillotine in but Miller was saved by the bell. The guys were pumped up at the beginning of the 3rd round and the crowd was so into it! It was more of the same in the third. Miller landed really good shots, and unfortunately all of Danzig submission attempts were denied. Miller wins the fight but they both worked their asses off!! I love Danzig and was hoping he would get the win but I was not disappointed at all.

I think they all did a good job of warming us up for what was yet to come. I am still crushed by the Bisping knock out. Yes, I was 1 of the 6 people rooting for Bisping. As a fighter, I am not taking anything away from Henderson. I think he is a good fighter and he seems like a genuinely nice guy. I just happen to LOVE Bisping. I never had a doubt in my mind that St Pierre would win. I still love you Thiago!!! Any other time I would be in his corner, but not only is St Pierre the shit in the ring, he looks mighty fine in those shorts of his. I think I speak for a lot of girls when I say THANK YOU!!!! As far as the Mir fight goes, I still love you Mir. Lesner is just a waste of space to me, and I will take such pleasure in watching Feder lay his ass out! Then he can go back home and pound Sable all he wants!

Total Combat is coming up on July 25 and I will have some things to say about those fights. I cannot wait to see War Machine!! I know, I know & I don’t care!! I am such a huge fan of his and it is worth going just to see him. I’m out!

Remember…no regrets!!!

T-Dub’s Blog: UFC 100 Weekend

This was the most exciting weekend I have had in forever. The expo was amazing. So many fighters were walking around taking pictures and signing autographs. Most of the fighters were gracious and extremely nice, particularly Junie Browning.

To start the weekend off, we went straight to the weigh-ins. Thank goodness I have UFC Fight Club membership because we were able to walk right in, and participate in a Q&A with Kenny Florian, which started at 2pm. General admission people had to wait in line until 4pm to get in for the weigh-ins, and some people were waiting for 4 hours. So word to the wise, get a fight club membership if you want to enjoy the weigh-ins and not have to wait in line.

We were able to get many autographs and pics outside of the expo as well as inside. Frank Lester, so cute in his new teeth, was the sweetest thing ever. Junie Browning felt so good and was so nice. He even remembered me the next day when I stopped by his booth. Andre Arlovski looked much bigger in person then he does on tv, unlike most fighters who look way shorter. You may not think he’s approachable, but he stood there taking photos outside of expo for a while. Wanderlei was nice enough to shake everyone’s hands, who were waiting in line for Junie and Diego, as he went to his next event. We were excited to see Joe Lauzon and Shogun. Gabriel Gonzaga was probably the happiest fighter there. Guys were having him put them in headlocks, while their friends snapped pictures of it. Gabriel seemed just as excited to pose with the fans. He was so adorable.

WEC fighters were ok. They didn’t seem to be as appreciative as the UFC fighters. They were nice, but it didn’t seem as though there were really into being there, except for Joseph Benavidez. He was really nice and attentive to us and very sweet. I look forward to seeing his fight on August 9th, my b-day. He said that he would give me a present. I can only wish. The other guys spoke amongst themselves and only paid attention enough to get your name. Donald Cerrone is hot though. Faber wasn’t there at that particular signing. We did see him after the fights though. I was disappointed that he wouldn’t take a picture with us, only blonds. That really irritated me, so much so that I’m no longer a fan of his. He’s a good fighter, but he’s no Royce Gracie, who showed his appreciation for the fans as he passed by. I’m not a fan of big headed guys. Shrink your head to be within proportion to your height and maybe I’ll say something nice about you.

The guys at the expo were like little girls at a Joe Bro concert. They stayed out of my way though. Probably because they could sense that I would knock ‘em out if they kept me away from my men. Glad to say that there were no incidences.

The fights were amazing. This was my first time at a UFC. I have to admit that I missed Joe Rogan’s commentary. Other than the crowd roaring, you don’t hear anything. We had great seats though, so we were able to see the fights perfectly. The prelims were good. I’m disappointed that CB lost in the first 55 seconds of the fight. Tom Lawlor though takes the cake on the best entrance. We saw Lawlor at Eyecandy in Mandalay Bay the next night, wearing hot pink pants. He seemed offended when I told him that I was going for CB because I liked his lips. What can I say, CB has great lips. Lawlor did look good on those pants though, and way better clean shaven. He seems like a character. His friends need to chill out though. One of them was rude to a nearby group of people. I don’t know why friends of fighters feel the need to talk smack to others. You’re not the fighter. Build a bridge and get over yourself.

Mark Coleman looked like an old man getting ready to take a nap, when he strolled up to the octagon. Guess he’s not too old, since he beat Bonner, although Bonner didn’t look like he belonged there either.

I don’t care what anyone says, but I am really disappointed that Bisping lost. He was more than capable of winning that fight, but as soon as the fight started, I knew that something was not right. You could tell that he let his nerves get the best of him. Don’t worry, he will avenge this fight in a couple of years, and whoop Dan’s ass. Nothing against Dan, but Bisping is hot and I love his accent. People were so excited that Bisping lost, and are saying that he’s not a good fighter. This was his second loss in 18 fights. You can’t tell me that he's not a good fighter. Everyone talks smack. Don’t hate because he does it with an accent.

GSP is my honey. He's # 1 in my eyes. Poor Thiago looked like a little boy trying to show that he was just as tough and holding on for as long as possible. We sat beind some friends of Thiago, who were really cool. The guy was trying to get some support for Thiago. If he was fighting anyone else, we would have rooted for him, but it was GSP. Can't beat that. I saw GSP in the hotel lobby monday morning. I was kicking myself because my dumb ass didn't think to bring a camera with me when I left the room.

All I have to say about Lesnar is that he sucks and should not be in the UFC. All he did was lay his fat ass on Mir so that he couldn’t get up, and punch him in the face. Where is the skill in that? He probably practiced that for a whole month and nothing else.

There’s so much more to say about UFC 100, but I’ve said enough. You just had to be there. Maybe next time.
